Undoubtedly inspired by the Sam Eledman Zoe Boot and keeping on trend with the covered wedge emergence, we have the breakout shoe of the season.  Easily replicated, taking you to new heights.  I was very prone to this style of shoe in my early teens so I’m all aboard, leaning towards the Jeffrey Campbell zippered version.  Of course leave it to Campbell to make an affordable / wearable offshoot of the look.  I’ll take lift where I can get it, but the Acne (boasting an 8 cm platform) and Anthropologie models would catapult me to Dinosaur levels.  Not exactly conducive to office day to night change over.

wedge

Everything that’s old is always new again.  I’ve said before that if I have an immediate dislike and hatred towards any style in particular, it will only come back eventually in another form that is infatuating.  I said it about patent leather, and now I’m saying it about ‘the wedge’.  I’ve always turned away from the wedge, but with the popularized trend of the covered platform comes the covered wedge, and it’s oh sooo pretty.  This We Who See Nash Bootie is case in point.  Want.

It’s a balmy zero celcius outside (I mean it when I say that) but it won’t last long.  That’s why I need me some seriously oversized furry foot coverings, also known as boots.  The Sorel Caribou can do no wrong.  Just throw on some skinnies, scarf and coat and you’re laughing.  Onwards to Heel Boy for a pair – or WalMart or Canadian Tire – I aint too proud.

Another year, another fantastic birthday.  Thanks, friends!  After a superb dinner at Taro Grill we scurried to Wrongbar for some Fake Blood, hence the undernoted bloody balloon.  Dress code:  high waisted jeans, leather blazer, cut out booties and bitching attitude.  It seems all my birthday treats ended up being dark dark and darker.  I was gifted the pictured booties in black along with the black leather blazer and big slouchy oversized Wilfred cardigan.  Dark like the season, warm like your blood.
