Undoubtedly inspired by the Sam Eledman Zoe Boot and keeping on trend with the covered wedge emergence, we have the breakout shoe of the season. Easily replicated, taking you to new heights. I was very prone to this style of shoe in my early teens so I’m all aboard, leaning towards the Jeffrey Campbell zippered version. Of course leave it to Campbell to make an affordable / wearable offshoot of the look. I’ll take lift where I can get it, but the Acne (boasting an 8 cm platform) and Anthropologie models would catapult me to Dinosaur levels. Not exactly conducive to office day to night change over.

Richard Chai debuted a lower priced secondary collection this week, opting to show the collection entitled ‘Love’ on the runway at New York fashion week rather then his designer collection. The line draws from the ever present boy theme in today’s womenswear and brings you well tailored basics ranging between $50 – $425 wholesale. I fell in love with the line as soon as I saw the promo shots. The entire collection has this beautiful relaxed look without sullying the feel of classic staples. Loving it.

VMag’s new Mario Sorenti editorial is a visual stunner. It reminds me of a tripped out bondage roid fest.
Every now and then I need a heart warming injection, and nothing does it like a piece of musical reality show audition. Gets me every time.

For those living under a rock, oak.NYC has a sister site called a.ok that houses cheaper, yet equally thrilling apparel like this Zebra print crop tank – previously 66$ reduced to $26. Giddy UP.

Everything that’s old is always new again. I’ve said before that if I have an immediate dislike and hatred towards any style in particular, it will only come back eventually in another form that is infatuating. I said it about patent leather, and now I’m saying it about ‘the wedge’. I’ve always turned away from the wedge, but with the popularized trend of the covered platform comes the covered wedge, and it’s oh sooo pretty. This We Who See Nash Bootie is case in point. Want.

If you’re perpetually cold come fall winter dead of winter, thermals are on your side. Alexander Wang brings the heat on top and bottom this year with these half and full on onesie thermals pictured on each end. While Chris Benz does versatility with easily disguised thermals that i’d love to get my [mittened] hands on. Bring on the layer.

Considering I’m on a self imposed ‘travel freeze’, Montreal appeased my appetite for travel/wallet destruction and has kept me satiated most of the year. Check out my photos of some notable sights and sounds around town from my May visit for Mutek.
