So I’ve allowed my eyes to settle on Gucci’s Spring 2008 Menswear collection for at least 24 hours now, and the same gosh darn salivating affect keeps happening. Extra drool goes out to the following:

A last minute tip last week landed me at a House of Spy sample sale in the Bloor & Landsdowne area. After almost crawling in a back window to find the place (despite the fluorescent signs pointing in the right direction) I made my peace with this sweet sweet jacket. Don’t let this model’s sour expression lead you wrong. In fact, it’s lined with silky black and white flowers, so there’s absolutely no reason to be frowning! Did I mention it was 50% off retail price? Mmmhmm.
Might Nylon have uncovered the first images of the Comme Des Garçons line for H&M? We’ll soon find out!

Upon further investigation, it seems the above images are from H&M’s Fall 2008 campaign. Despite this, my excitement has not dwindled. Hot Hot Hot!

SEK ONE @ ACID CITY
With DJs Fistfight, Alias. Fri, June 20. Toika, 471 Richmond W. $6.
“Anything I do is based solely around a big fat bassline,” declares local DJ and promoter Brandon Sek (a.k.a. Sek One), the man behind the Curb Crawlers and Subtrac events. Having been DJing for the past 14 years, Sek has loved and played all from Chicago house and Detroit techno to drum ‘n’ bass, UK garage, dubstep and “dark Detroit drum machine electro.” Acid City finds him partnered with similarly adventurous DJ/producer Fistfight, of Nacho Lovers fame. Expect the two of them to come heavy with sounds both classic and futuristic. Check Sek’s popular blog at www.thecurbcrawlers.com/blog for a taste.
So I’ve officially dubbed this ‘Show Me Love’ Booleg Friday’s ANTHEM. This tune makes me want to create a youtube video remix with crazy multi colored graphics and dancing . If anyone has an artist i.d, please share.
The Guvernment’s Canada Day lineup is massive, as per usual, but let’s zero in on the important part: Benga. While clubs in Toronto have been vibrating for the last 2 years with the sound of dubstep introduced to the city by Subtrac in early 2006, Tempa’s Afro Warrior will be the first DJ to play a full length dubstep set in the Guvernment complex. Good on Theory for nabbing the Benga man. Big sound. Get ready to rumble.
Things are heating up at W Magazine with their ‘Summer Camp’ Editorial, featuring the faces and scantily clad bodies of Kate Moss, Daria Werbowy, and Lara Stone.
I started browsing FabSugar’s UK site for some fashion prep some time before blasting off to London. Since our return I occasionally mosey on over and it’s sublime torture for obvious reasons: distance and conversion. This Kate Moss for Top Shop leather jacket was recently highlighted. It reminds me of something Chris & Mike would churn out, but for half the price. I don’t even know if they ship to Canada – I’m trying to stop myself from checking.
Today I find myself the proud owner of this Lucky Brand fringe bag. I fell in love with it months ago and decided now that it’s no longer available to snatch it up on ebay. It retails for $248 and I paid considerably less. Let’s consider this my ‘promotion’ present. That’s about as much as I’ll talk about my promotion on this blog. So suede, so fringy, so supple, arrrgghghghg. Can’t wait for arrival day.
Here we go again fellow Curbcrawlers. Acid City is coming at ya for a second installment of below the belt grinding and above the head licka shots. Uh Huh. I said it. I know you just creamed yourself, so the kind Mister Sek One has prepared a mixtape for you to practice to and avoid any dancefloor embarrassment.
