This Weekend was an endless roller coaster ride of fun. Today I find myself in my usual ‘recovery’ position: sofa city.
Friday was spent cooking up a storm for the ever so lucky CareBear and B-don. I borrowed a no-frills recipe from Mark Bittman. More sauce less pasta was the name of the game. Home run.
We finalized the night with our super VIP status at the RedBull Music Academy closing party. The Shared Loft in Toronto was so international friday night. Accents flying all over the place. One unidentified dj manned the decks the entire night. He took us on a journey through it all: jazz, funk, house, dnb, hiphop. And just as we were tip toeing our way out of that joint, the dubstep began and back we went to the dancefloor.
A solid hour later we were reminded why Subtrac began in the first place. It’ll be making a comeback soon enough. To rescue dubstep in Toronto from the depths of hippydubstepshuffle hell it seems to be falling into. Stay alert.
After a stealthy Saturday recovery, we bid adieu to TomTom et ClanClan. They’re blowing this popstand and so we could only say goodbye in style. Toronto’s first bitterly cold night was complimented by the warm atmosphere that housed the shindig. Many blog promotions were announced in between sad faces for TomTom’s departure.

Alongside Yelle, Robyn is another re-mixer favorite. ‘With Every Heartbeat’ is a moody tune that hits you in the gut. Remixes from the likes of Pete Tong and Rory Phillips still can’t touch the original though.

Might have to hit this up tomorrow. After yesterday’s 30 days of night, the Halloween creepy crawlies have got the best of me. I can just see my hungover Friday waiting in the wings. mwahahahah.

The Time Traveler’s Wife is shooting on my street corner. The entire block is made up to look like Christmas Eve 1970. Pretty neato! Snow machines et all.
Went out and took pictures until we got the boot.
Once again, I wasn’t discovered.
*sad face

Next up from the Trouble&Bass camp to run a muck in Toronto is Passions (aka Mathhead). Via Curbcrawlers & Fuckfaces, no less.
November 16th at Sneaky Dee’s.
Don’t say I didn’t tell you so.

Listening to MattCarl & XI’s Streamizm [every Tuesday at 8pm east] a few weeks back – heard some dopeness and got all ‘who’s that MUST blog about him’.
Woogie makes some seriously heavy dub-[insert trendy pseudo genre here]. So drool worthy.
Here’s a goodie for you.
Our boy alias is a fucken weirdo but his tunes are sooo sick and he’s spearheaded a group field trip to the movies this tuesday for vampiiiirrr freak our sesh. yayer!
